The field of Optics and Photonics is a booming section of the economy and a major research area of interest in India. While the number of excellently trained female students in this field continues to grow, women leaders in academia, as well as industry, are woefully underrepresented. WOPI-Asia 2024 will combine talks from established women in the field along with leadership and career development activities. WOPI-Asia aims to connect female professionals in the early stages of their careers with established experts in optics and photonics to build a growing community of women pioneers in India and jointly create an environment to develop strategies for personal support and professional success.
